In the heart of Iowa, classic car enthusiasts cherish the rich automotive history that iconic vehicles represent. Donating your classic or collector car not only benefits local charities, but it also allows you to share your passion for vintage automobiles with others who appreciate their timeless value. Whether it’s a 1965 Ford Mustang or a 1970 Plymouth Cuda, your car can help drive positive change in the community.
Many Iowans have found joy in restoring and preserving classic cars, creating lasting memories along the way. Perhaps you inherited a beloved Chevrolet Impala from your grandfather or have cherished a classic Volkswagen Beetle since your college days. By donating, you're not just passing on a vehicle; you're sharing a story, a legacy, and contributing to a greater good through Heartland Wheels.

How pickup works
When you choose to donate a classic car, our team at Heartland Wheels ensures a seamless pickup process tailored to your vehicle's needs. For higher-value donations, we strongly prefer using an enclosed-transport trailer to protect your classic during transport. We coordinate the details with you, including scheduling a convenient pickup time. If your car is running, you may opt for a drive-away option, or if it needs storage, we can assist in arranging logistics accordingly.
What drives donation value
The value of your classic car donation is influenced by several key factors. Vehicles that have documented provenance, matching-numbers components, and original drivetrains typically command higher appraisals. Additionally, the condition, rarity, and demand for specific models can drive value significantly. Classic cars are generally valued at $5,000 or more; thus, a qualified appraisal (IRS Form 8283 Section B) is mandatory to provide accurate valuation for tax deductions, ensuring you receive the maximum benefit from your generous donation.
Documentation you need
